CFL Awards pay tribute to rebound of Canadian football in B.C.
B.C. Lions owner, vice-president reflect on state of the club, market and league
It is not the storybook ending to the 70th anniversary season that the B.C. Lions hoped for. But club ownership and management are ecstatic with Vancouver’s Grey Cup Festival, leading to the Nov. 17 championship at B.C. Place Stadium between the Toronto Argonauts and Winnipeg Blue Bombers.
B.C. Lions owner Amar Doman was presented the Commissioner’s Award and vice-president of business operations and marketing Carolyn Cody the Jane Mawby Tribute Award at the Nov. 14 CFL Awards.
Doman and Cody reflected on the state of the CFL, the Lions and the Vancouver market when they met with reporters at the Vancouver Convention Centre, the centre of Grey Cup Festival celebrations through Nov. 17.
