An element of the Feb. 3 truce in the Trump-Trudeau Trade War is the Canadian government’s vow to appoint a “fentanyl czar.” Who will it be and when does the work begin?
One of the loudest Canadian political voices about the Chinese government’s role in flooding North America with fentanyl and precursor chemicals is Brad West, the Mayor of Port Coquitlam, B.C.
West met in April 2023 with U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken at the Cities Summit of the Americas in Denver. He joined host Bob Mackin on thePodcast in May 2023 to talk about that meeting and other issues.
In 2024, 2,253 people in B.C. died from what the coroner calls “unregulated drug deaths.” Fentanyl was involved in 85% of the cases.
