WATCH: Drones dazzle Vancouver waterfront for Grey Cup festival
Weather co-operates for electric atmosphere, beside and above Coal Harbour
A first for a Vancouver Grey Cup festival!
Thousands lined-up Nov. 15 along the Coal Harbour seawall and even more watched from area condos, restaurants and hotels on the dry, crisp evening. The Destination Vancouver-presented, Pixel Sky Animations-produced show featured 1,000 drones and was billed as the biggest in Canada.
The 11-minute show, with Stanley Park and the North Shore mountains as a backdrop, featured a spinning Grey Cup, animated quarterback passing a ball to a receiver, and helmets and logos of the Winnipeg Blue Bombers and Toronto Argonauts.
The western and eastern champions will battle in the 111th Grey Cup championship on Nov. 17 at B.C. Place Stadium.
